Nartker, Caroline Lee (Carol)
Age 77, of Tipp City, Ohio went home to be with her Lord and Savior on June 8, 2021 with her family by her side at Wexner Medical Center in Columbus. Carol was born May 23, 1944 in Dayton, Ohio to the late Daniel and Rita (Quinter) Martin. Carol is survived by her loving husband of over 56 years, Richard (Dick) Joseph Nartker; sons Gregory (Kim) Nartker of Bellbrook; Patrick (Sandy) Nartker of New Carlisle; Brian Nartker of Northfield; daughters Amy (Paul) Broerman of Troy; and Sarah Nartker of Vandalia; along with grandchildren: Travis Nartker; Trevor Nartker; Trenton Nartker; Lindsey Nartker; Kirsten Nartker; Kaleigh Nartker; Anna Broerman; Jesse Nartker; Maria Broerman; and Brady Nartker; and grand dogs: Ziggy and Ruby. Family was a very important part of Carol’s life as seen through her many relationships. She was a great daughter, loving wife, caring mother and an incredible “Grams”! In addition, she was a sweet sister, fun aunt, and crazy cousin to so many people whose lives she touched. She knew no strangers – was very outgoing. Her love for sports was second only to her family. If she wasn’t out watching a relative or friend play, she could always be found glued to some event on TV. Over the years, she did get to check some big items off her bucket list: meeting tennis great Andre Agassi, going to the men’s NCAA basketball tournament, and going to the annual Duke banquet…were just a few. Carol also enjoyed gardening, fishing, playing cards and baking. Spending time out in the sun trying to hook a fish, or taking care of her flowers or vegetables was always enjoyable to her. Even in her later years, when she had to be attached to oxygen, her main concern was “will the tubing allow me to get to my plants and how do I become more mobile.” Carol never missed out on a good card game. Shuffle a deck and she would come to see what was being played. She enjoyed many evenings playing euchre with friends in Card Club and pinochle with family. Christmas was a great time of year for Carol. She enjoyed spending time with family throughout the season, from finding those great Black Friday deals, to selflessly donating countless hours to helping prepare and run the school Santa Shop where she prewrapped thousands of presents and made sure it was the best experience for all the kids, to most notably baking all the family favorite treats with the grandkids. She would spend hours in the kitchen… and let’s not forget those special occasion dinner rolls! Carol had a long battle with multiple illnesses: ITP, Breast Cancer, Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension, and Myelofibrosis just to name a few. One sure thing is Carol never lost her faith throughout all the hardships she was given both physically and mentally. She faced every single challenge with strength and a positive attitude and of course she built relationships with all the doctors, nurses, and staff in all the different offices. We thank all of them for providing her with excellent care and treating her with great compassion. It made all the difference in her willingness to continue the fight. The family will host a visitation from 5 – 8 p.m. Monday, June 14, 2021 at Trostel, Chapman, Dunbar & Fraley Funeral Home, 507 West Jefferson St., New Carlisle, Ohio. A Catholic burial mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on June 15, 2021 at Sacred Heart Church, 209 W Lake Ave, New Carlisle, Ohio, with burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery, Dayton, Ohio.
