William Scott Jr.

March 26, 1972 — September 12, 2025

New Carlisle

When the sun had left and the winter came
And the sky fall could only bring the rain
I sat in darkness, all broken hearted
I couldn’t find a day I didn’t feel alone
I never meant to cry, started losing hope
But somehow baby, you broke through and saved me

You’re an angel, tell me you’re never leaving
Cause you’re the first thing I know I can believe in

William Scott Jr, age 53 of New Carlisle, OH, passed away on 9-12-2025. A 1992 graduate of Arcanum-Butler. He was preceded in death by his mother, Janet (Cope) Scott. Survived by his wife, Ericka Scott, daughter Charissa Scott, and Ericka’s 3 children- Dakota, Dalan ( Stephanie), and Marisa, his brother Dennis ( Wynona) Scott, sister Valerie (LJ) Scott, and many nieces, nephews, aunts, and a small army of family inherited with his marriage.

William was notorious for his ability to fix anything set before him and create functioning machines seemingly out of a pile of “junk”. His daughter’s happiness was of utmost importance to him, and he cherished every second they shared. He enjoyed cooking, woodworking, family dinners, and working side by side with his wife, transforming their property and home into their sanctuary, Scottland Yard. When he wasn’t working, his calling for adventure was lived out at both ends of the spectrum- plummeting to earth, tandem skydiving, cross-country sightseeing, and lazy days, kayaking on the river where he could fish, a true passion of his. William was a man of few words, had a heart larger than life, a sense of humor worthy of experiencing, and an everlasting inner child hiding behind his baritone, even-keeled voice, and often expressionless face.

A celebration of life will take place at Scottland Yard on 9-28-25 from 1:00 PM til whenever.

In lieu of flowers, we ask that you contribute to the expense of purchasing a gem made from his ashes for his daughter. If you insist on flowers, please choose seed packets so his wife can nurture and enjoy those flowers at Scottland Yard.
