MINNICK, William J. 96, of Springfield passed away Monday, November 9, 2015 in Cape Coral, Fl. He was born June 1, 1919 in Springfield the son of Otto E. and Addie E. (Diemer) Minnick. Mr. Minnick was retired from Public Employees Retirement System, where he had worked closely with IBM to design and install their first computer system. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, and served as Musical Director at Trinity and several other churches in town. Bill was a co-founder and member of the Springfield Symphony Orchestra, playing viola, and played in several local dance bands. He is survived by his daughter Lisa A. McCullough, with whom he had resided in Cape Coral, FL for the past ten years; Garret H. "Goose" Berry of Springfield; Philip D. Minnick and Robert W. Bunn of Columbus, OH; granddaughter Andrea Palker of Houston, TX; great grandchildren Jessica and Tristan. Bill was preceded in death by his wife Marguerite K. Minnick in 2000, and his son Frederick J. "Fritz" Minnick. Visitation will be Friday from 6-8 PM. in the RICHARDS, RAFF & DUNBAR MEMORIAL HOME.
