William Thomas Foster

William T. “Bill” Foster, age 87, of Springfield, Ohio, passed away at The Masonic Home on August 31, 2026. He was born in Dalton, Georgia, on January 6, 1939, to the late Herman and Aurelia Foster. In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his wife of 37 years, Grace Mary Foster; uncle, Walter F Harris; sister, Marie Foster Fields; brother, Joe Foster; and mother of his children, Imogene Isaacs Foster.

Bill is survived by his children: Yvonne (Douglas) Hesler of Jamestown, Ohio, Terry (Kelly) Foster of Catawba, Ohio; and stepdaughter, Joetta (Mark) Bragg of Columbus, Ohio; grandchildren: Alexander (Emily Miller) Hesler, Hayley Hesler, Micah Hesler, Jade (Kellen) Chamberlain, Gerrad (Brie) Wise, Jessica Bragg, Melissa Bragg, and Jacob Bragg; great grandchildren: Alora, Felix, and Vincent Chamberlain; sister, Phyllis Fields; daughter in law, Decinda Harris; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

Bill proudly served in the United States Army from 1956 to 1962. He was a member of the Masons and the Ohio Eastern Stars. Bill was also a long-time member of Springfield Missionary Baptist Church where he served as a trustee on the board. For more than 60 years he took pride in being a welder.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, from 1:00pm to 2:00pm at Shawnee Hills Baptist Church, 3490 Jasper Road, Jamestown, Ohio. Funeral services will follow at 2:00pm, officiated by Pastor Adam McCune.
