William "Bill" D. Schalm

William "Bill" D. Schalm, 52, passed away surrounded with love from his family and his closest friend, on October 18, 2020. William was born October 15, 1968 in Mt. Clemens, MI. He had built his life and family here in Springfield, OH, but Bill’s heart will always belong to Michigan. This was made apparent to all, by his love for U of M Football, and his lifelong desire to return back home. Bill will be greatly missed by his five children, RaeLynn, Tabatha, Dillon, Mason, and Payton. Bill also has 11 Grandchildren, with another on the way. Survivors also include his mother, Nancy Schalm, his brother, Lee and sister, Dawn, his nephew and several nieces, his Grandpa French, Grandma Schalm, aunts, uncles, and many cousins. Bill found happiness during his life with Cindy, Angela, Shayla, and many friends throughout the years. William was preceded in death by his Father, John Schalm, his Grandma French and his Grandpa Schalm. Bill will forever be remembered as the easy-going, fun-loving, goodtime guy; always ready with a smile, a joke, or a hug…Along with some great stories, including the one about the time he wrestled a Black bear. Visitation will be held Saturday, October 24, 2020 from 1-3pm at Richards, Raff, and Dunbar Memorial Home, 838 E. High St. Springfield, Oh 45505. Funeral Services to follow at 3:00pm. A celebration honoring William’s life, will be held immediately after, at The Northridge Lions Club 4590 Derr Rd. Springfield, Oh 45503. Guests attending are asked to wear Michigan colors or orange.
