VANWEY, Wayne T. 85 of Springfield passed away October 29, 2015 at the Forest Glen Health Campus. He was born in Greene County, Ohio on September 7, 1930, the son of Elmer and Pearl Vanwey. He was a 1948 graduate of Ross Township High School. Wayne served his country in the US Army during the Korean War. He retired with 37 years of service from Navistar as the Supt. of Special Equipment. Wayne was the K of P Past Grand Chancellor of Ohio; Ingomar # 610 and Red Star # 205; Dramatic Order Knights of Khorassan; Past Master Anthony Lodge #455; Grand Lodge Trustee; Chapter 237, Council 17 & Commandery 33; Trustee Temple Endowment Fund; VFW of South Carolina; Clark Co Bowling Assoc. Past President and Executive Director 40 years; he had the Ohio State Bowling Tournament in Springfield 1967 when he was President; Life member Ohio State Bowling Assoc.; Clark County Bowling Assoc. Hall of Fame. Preceded in death by his parents; wife Helen and brother Wendell. Survivors include sons Tom (Lisa) Vanwey and Mike Vanwey; daughters Kristie (Shawn) Danley and Kathy (Tony) Daniel; brother David (Arlene) Vanwey; sisters Katherine Kimley and Rebecca (Richard) Creamer; grandchildren Trina (Steve) Eller, Tami (Steve) Pelfrey, Giny (Matt) Thomason, Nate & Andy Vanwey, Joe (Karrah) Danley, Jake Danley, Matt, Josh and Tyler Vanwey. Visitation will be Monday from 5-8PM in the RICHRADS, RAFF & DUNBAR MEMORIAL HOME. A service to honor Wayne will be Tuesday at 11:00AM in the Memorial Home with Pastor Neal Haney officiating. K of P memorial services will be Monday at 7:30PM and Masonic services at 8:00PM. Burial to following Glen Haven Memorial Gardens.
