Wanda A. Thacker

Thacker, Wanda A., 90 of Springfield went home to be with her Lord on July 6, 2018. She was born on August 30, 1927, the daughter of Thomas and Flossie Burton. Wanda retired from the Soapbox Laundry on South Limestone. She was a member of the Grace Missionary Baptist Church. She loved to sew and embroidery. But her greatest love was Jesus and her family. Wanda was preceded in death by her parents; husbands Elmer Knapp and Zack Thacker; and brothers Donald and John Burton. Survivors include her children Sandy Johnson, Terry C. (Candy) Knapp, Joyce A. (Wayne) Langdon and Keith D. (Pam) Thacker; sister Lola J. Coonrod; grandchildren Shawn Knapp, Lisa Johnson, Zack Thacker, Christopher Solenburger and Brittney Langdon; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; sisters-in-law Gertrude Burton and Rose Burton. Services to honor Wanda will be Sunday at 4:00 PM in the Grace Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Orbie Estep officiating. A gathering of family and friends will begin at 3:00 PM at the church. Private burial will take place in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. The family is being served by RICHARDS, RAFF & DUNBAR MEMORIAL HOME.
