Virginia R. Teach, 84, of Springfield, passed away Saturday, January 20, 2018 in Pathways at the Ohio Masonic Community. She was born on a small farm near Enon on April 15, 1933, the daughter of the late Everett and Mary DeMent. Virginia was a longtime member of the Donnels Creek Church of the Brethren. She had worked at J.C. Penney Catalog and Springfield City Schools in food service. Virginia is preceded in death by her sister Fleta Hoffman and a brother Orris DeMent. She is survived by her husband of 63 years Kenneth D. Teach; daughters Brenda (Philip) Lambers and Denise (Jerry) Gaver; brother Max (Joan) DeMent; grandchildren Ben (Erin) Lambers, Sara (Nathaniel) Benoy, Dylan (Natalie) Gaver and Dustin (Sarah) Gaver; great-grandchildren Maria, Drew, Arthur, Julia, Theodore, Savannah, Bellamy, Caroline and Elliott. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5-8 PM in Trostel, Chapman, Dunbar & Fraley Funeral Home. A funeral service to honor Virginia will be Thursday at 10:30 AM at Donnels Creek Church of the Brethren, 6562 Detrick-Jordan Pk., Springfield, OH, 45502. Burial will follow in Myers Cemetery.
