Virginia Lokell (McKenzie) Grow, 81, of Springfield died peacefully in her home January 25, 2018 in her family’s care. She was born in Paintsville, KY August 30, 1936, to the late Ray, Sr. and Violet (Ford) McKenzie. Over the years, "Jenny" held many titles: homemaker, wife, and mom, and was fiercely loyal to her family. She was the "go to" carpool mom, babysitter, provider of elder care, and in her day an excellent bowler. She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary 8673 for over 40 years. She is survived by her son John (Kristy) Grow, daughter Deborah Shockley, and son Robert Potts; brothers Ray, Jr. (Barbara) McKenzie and Kenneth McKenzie; grandchildren Jennifer (Thomas) Bryan, Sean Grow and Byron Shockley, Katelyn, Alexia and McKenzie Grow; great-grandchildren Zach and Taylor Bryan; and "grandma’s baby," Bruiser. She was preceded in death by her husband Paul, sister Jewell (Mayford) Estep, and brother Francis McKenzie. Special thanks to Dr. Vipul Patel and the step down ICU at Springfield Regional Medical Center along with Hospice of Dayton for their excellent care, and especially to "Auntie" for her loving assistance on mom’s return home. Visitation for Jenny will be Monday from 11:00 am until 12 noon in the RICHARDS, RAFF & DUNBAR MEMORIAL HOME. The funeral service to honor her life will be at 12 noon with Pastor Steve Wallace officiating. Burial will follow in Enon Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Interfaith Hospitality Network.Expressions of sympathy may be made at www.richardsraffanddunbar.com
