Chase, Virginia A., 98 of Springfield passed away December 29, 2018 in Eaglewood Care Center. She was born in Aroya, Colorado on September 30, 1920, the daughter of the late John and Clara Hensley. Virginia was a member of the former Lagonda United Methodist Church. She retired with 27 years of service with the Springfield City Schools as a secretary. She loved sewing, crocheting and working in her flower garden.Virginia was an extremely devoted Mother and Grandma, who had such a beautiful soul. To her family she was known for her phenomenal fried chicken and chocolate chip cookies. Shewill be greatly missed because of her love, her compassion and her willingness to always offer help.She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Robert F. Chase in 1999; son-in-law Jim Amlin; sister Verley Nichols; brother Roger Hensley; granddaughter-in-law Michelle Amlin and niece Joyce Pfleger. Survivors include her daughter Janet (Cliff VanArsdale) Amlin; grandchildren Jeff Amlin, Jack Amlin and Julane (Brian) Walker; great-grandchildren Greg (Leanna) Zielinski, Brianna (Corbin) Quire, Ryan Amlin, Kylie Walker and Nick Amlin; great-great grandchildren Carter, Leighton, Rowan and Conrad; niece Mary Ann (Bob) Davis and nephew Rev. Dick (Linda) McDaniel. Services to honor Virginia will be Thursday at 2:00PM in the RICHARDS, RAFF & DUNBAR MEMORIAL HOME with Rev. Kenneth Woode officiating.
