Tracey Ann Thompson age 50 of Springfield passed away on Saturday, November 4, 2023, at Kettering Medical Center. Tracey was born the daughter of Terry & Valerie (Cook) Reed on May 10, 1973, in Springfield, Ohio. She is preceded in death by her father; maternal grandparents Dick & Amanda Cook; aunt Kathy Martin. Tracey is survived by her husband Ian Thompson; mother Valerie Reed; sons Devin “Dee” Elliott of West Virginia, & Dylan Elliott of Springfield; “extra” son Trayton Thompson of Springfield; brother Rick (Erin) Reed of Illinois; aunts Darcie (Terry) Kirker, Laurie Whitt, & Karla (Richard) Gunther; niece Darien (Niles) Mattox of Missouri; nephew Quentin (Veronica “Ronnie” Foote) Reed of Illinois; mother in law Linda Thompson; father in law Douglas “Julio” Thompson; k9 companions Dallas & Storm; feline companion Cruiser; numerous cousins, extended family, & a host of friends. Tracey was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister & friend. She will be missed by all of those who love her. Tracey was a graduate of Kenton Ridge High School class of 1991 & later earned her MBA from Franklin University. For over 22 years she was a dedicated Civil Service professional working at Wright Patterson Air Force Base as a Logistics Management Specialist. Tracey was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys & The Ohio State Buckeyes. She enjoyed traveling with her husband, especially to Myrtle Beach. Tracey was famous for her homemade chili, & looked forward to the Christmas season so she could watch A Christmas Story on repeat with her sons. Tracey was known for a quote, & they would like for each of you to cherish it & pass it along. “Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away”. Friends & family may call on Thursday, November 9, 2023, from 5PM – 7PM at RICHARDS, RAFF & DUNBAR MEMORIAL HOME 838 E. High St. Springfield, Ohio where a funeral will be held on Friday, November 10, 2023, at 11AM. Interment to follow in the Ferncliff Cemetery. In honor of Tracey the family requests that you attend the visitation & funeral in comfortable clothing or your favorite team jersey.
