Tina M. Grimes

Oct 12, 1957 — Aug 5, 2026

Tina Grimes, age 68, of Springfield, Ohio, passed away August 5, 2026, at Springfield Kettering Hospital with family at her bedside.

Born and raised in Springfield, Tina attended schools both in Springfield and in Xenia, Ohio. Her primary focus and interests were centered around art, especially drawing. Tina’s talent and skills were exceptional. She could draw most anything and the finished work was incredible.

In addition to her interest in art, Tina loved rock music, and attended concerts regularly, especially at the Rose Music Center. In fact, she went so often, staff and many regular patrons warmly greeted her by name.

Tina never knew a stranger and always lifted the spirits of each person she encountered anywhere and everywhere she went. She was also known for her kind, patient, and generous ways. Tina’s quick wit and natural ability to turn a phrase often engendered belly laughs from those within hearing distance.

Tina proudly served in both the U.S. Air Force and U.S. Army for many years. As if that weren’t enough, she became the first female officer protecting the federal infrastructure zone of Hoover Dam. Additionally, she was employed as a 911 Emergency Dispatcher for Wyoming Highway Patrol and worked for the National Park Service at Fort Laramie in Wyoming.

Tina is survived by her son, Anthony Michael “Tony”, with whom she was and is very close. She is additionally survived by her siblings Michael (Janet), Deb (Mike), Chuck (Sheri), and Francie, and many nieces and nephews. Preceding Tina in death are Sue Potts, Charline Grimes Adkins, and Thornton G. Grimes, M.D.
