Terry Alan Hamisch, age 76, of New Carlisle, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 28, 2025. Born on February 28, 1949, in Dayton, Ohio, Terry was the beloved son of the late Paul and Alma Hamisch. Paul being a proud immigrant, instilled in him a love for storytelling, particularly about his many inventions.
An avid craftsman, Terry enjoyed working with his hands, much like his father before him. He made a name for himself as a talented woodworker, creating beautiful cabinets and furniture pieces that will continue to reflect his artistry and dedication. Throughout his career, Terry worked with Dayton Freight and concluded his professional journey at Transfreight, retiring after many years of dedicated service.
Terry was a passionate car enthusiast and took great pride in his cherished 1971 Corvette. His love for cars was evident in his active participation in area car shows, where he enjoyed sharing this passion with fellow enthusiasts.
Terry is survived by his devoted wife of 54 years, Pam (Korte) Hamisch, whose love and support were central to his life. He will be lovingly remembered by his children, Amy (David) Allen, Kelly (Lewis Reynolds) Hamisch-Reynolds, and Terry M. (Tammy Brown) Hamisch; his brother Robert (Joey) Hamisch; and his treasured grandchildren: Abby Allen, Shelby Allen, Jackson Allen, Maxwell Allen, Madison (Jake) Burritt, Macy Reynolds, Alex (Cecelia) Hamisch, Austin Hamisch, and Andrew Hamisch. Terry also leaves behind great-grandsons McCoy and Maverick, along with several nieces, nephews, and extended family members, all of whom brought joy to his life.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his granddaughter Courtney E. Hamisch, and his brother Paul H. Hamisch, Jr., whose memories he cherished deeply.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during the visitation, which will be held on Monday, July 7, 2025, from 12-1 PM at Trostel, Chapman, Dunbar & Fraley Funeral Home. A funeral service to honor and celebrate Terry's life will commence at 1:00 PM, officiated by his nephew, Father Andrew Hess. Following the service, Terry will be laid to rest at Maple Hill Cemetery in Tipp City.
