Tate Alexander Barcus, age 27, of Springfield, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly on October 4, 2025. He was born on March 18, 1998 to Chad Barcus and Tiffany Rothgeb.
Tate was preceded in death by his brother, Arrington; uncle Paul; aunt Patti; Nana Fran; Little Granny; Grandpa Crow; best friend, Nathan; and favorite dog, Man. He is survived by his son, Tate Jr.; LOML, Chelsea; father, Chad; peanut mother, Tiffany; special grandma and grandpa Allan and Donna Massie; grandma Donna Roush; sisters: Stephanie (Sissy), Danielle, Macy, Chelsea G, Hayley, and Shian; brothers: J.R., Chad Jr, and Brandon; aunts and uncles: David and Candy, Shannon and Bobby, Heather, and Sam and Amber; nieces and nephews: Tierra, Tyler, Tawana Taiah, Ty'Lee, Trae, Tesa, Awanyah, Addylynn, Stephen III, Liam, Aj, Layla, Olivia, Myla, A’Zayla, Aaron, Chloe, Jace, Ryleigh, and Zaylynn; cousins: Rachelle, John, Searra, Aaron, Austin, and Chelsea K.; best friends: Darrian B, Doug S., and Brandon W.; as well as many other amazing family and friends.
Tate enjoyed fishing, kayaking, video games, and Dragon Ball Z. He was an amazing father, a great friend, brother, son, and grandson and cared more about others than he did himself. What Tate loved more than anything was spending time with his son, the love of his life, his family, and his friends. He was loved by many and his memory will live on through those who were blessed to know him.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at Richards, Raff, and Dunbar Memorial Home, 838 East High Street, from 2:00pm to 4:00pm. A celebration of life will begin at 4:00pm.
