Susan Irene Motter, a lifelong resident of Springfield, Ohio, peacefully passed away on Monday, June 1st, 2026, at the age of 86. She was born in Springfield on March 27th, 1940, to August Wiseman and Mildred (Maurer) Wiseman. Susan led a life full of love, devotion, and service to her family, friends, and faith community. After graduating from high school, Susan began her career at The Springfield Bank, where she met the love of her life, Larry Motter. Together they built a beautiful life filled with rich memories. Susan is remembered as a devoted mother to her children Lynne Treharne of Florida, Julie (Barry) Harshbarger of Springfield, and Daniel (Marsha) Motter of Indiana. Her legacy continues through her cherished grandchildren, Heather (Taylor) Maute, Eric (Amelia) Harshbarger, Adam Treharne, Hayley (Sam Bewley) Motter, Reid Treharne, and Samuel (Alexa) Motter, and her beloved great-grandchildren Ajay, Ross, Gift, Luke, Neo, Beau, Ronan, Wren, August, Arlo, and Calvin. She is also survived by her dear sister, Kay (David) Arthur, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, special friends, dear neighbors, and her church family. Susan was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved husband, Larry Motter. Susan loved Jesus and was a member of North Hampton Community Church. She was a devout Christian who took great joy in her faith and Bible studies. Her commitment to 4H as a youth and later as an advisor highlighted her passion for community involvement. Susan's greatest pride was raising her children. She loved attending her children’s and grandchildren's sporting events and taking countless photos to capture each precious moment. With a profound love for the outdoors, Susan enjoyed traveling to beaches and national parks with her husband and spent over 20 years as a snowbird in Melbourne, Florida. Susan delighted in watching the sunrise over the ocean. Family and friends are invited to honor Susan's life at a visitation on Monday, June 8th, 2026, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at Richards, Raff & Dunbar Memorial Home in Springfield, Ohio. A funeral service will follow at the memorial home at 12:00 pm. Susan will be laid to rest in a graveside service at Clifton Cemetery in Clifton, Ohio.
