Sidney Lynn Wolfe

Sidney L. Wolfe age 69 of Springfield, passed away on May 26, 2021 at Hospice of Dayton. Sidney was born on May 29, 1951 to Larry & Gloria (Antis) Wolfe in Portsmouth, Ohio. After graduating from Portsmouth High School, he signed up for military service (1971) in the United States Army and was deployed to Germany during the Vietnam War. Before deployment he asked for Wanda McClaskey’s hand in marriage& they were wed; going on to have three children Tom, Marsha, & Mark. After returning from Germany Sidney was assigned as MP (SPEC 4) at Wright Patterson Air Force Base. Sidney was greatly fond of horses which he had raised & trained with his father & won ribbons at multiple horse shows. Anyone who knew him knows that he could be found around horses for most of his life, when he wasn’t Sidney had one other passion which was playing Euchre with friends & family entering multiple tournaments. Sidney was preceded in death by his parents ; brothers Larry Lee Wolfe, & Dee Eichenlaub. Sidney is survived by his children Tom Wolfe, Marsha (Eddie) Horton, Mark (Nicole) Wolfe; grandchildren Kyler (Cassandra Overman) Horton, Logan Horton, & Ansley Horton; great grandchild Sienna Horton. A gathering of friends & family will be held on Wednesday, June 2, 2021 from 4:30PM – 5:00PM at Berea Bible Church 3850 Derr Rd. Springfield, Ohio where a Celebration of Life service will begin at 5PM with Pastor Brian Miller officiating.
