Shirley Maxson

December 15, 1933 — October 11, 2020

Born December 15, 1933 in Portsmouth, VA Shirley Maxson went to meet her heavenly father on the morning of October 11, 2020. She was preceded in death by her father, James Lonnie Lassiter, a retired Naval Chief who served in the Pacific Theater during WWII, her mother Edith Mae (Forman) Lassiter, her sister Lorraine (Bunnie) Setzer and her brother James Lonnie (Jimmy) Lassiter Jr. She is survived by her 5 children Robert J. Maxson, David W. Maxson, Cynthia L. (Maxson) Shepley, Teresa K. (Maxson) Ashley and Melissa S. (Maxson) Stutz. 10 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren any many nieces, nephews. She enjoyed telling stories about her childhood and especially liked recounting her memories December 7, 1941 with her mother and sister, and how her father, who had been at sea that morning, came home late explained what to do, before he reported back to his ship the following. She will be dearly missed by all that knew her.
