New Carlisle

Shiela Kay Bliss, age 68, of New Carlisle, peacefully passed away surrounded by her loving children on Friday, December 26, 2025. Born on a warm summer day in Paintsville, KY, on July 13, 1957, Shiela was the cherished daughter of the late Willie G. and Barbara Lou Shepherd.

Shiela dedicated her career to the Fairborn City School System, where she worked as a beloved bus driver, ensuring the safety and happiness of countless children throughout the years. After retiring, she devoted her time to her family, whom she treasured above all else. Shiela was a devoted mother and grandmother whose heart was rooted deeply in her faith and love for God.

Shiela joins her parents and her dear husband, Vaughn M. “Butch” Bliss, in eternal rest. Her legacy of love and kindness continues through her children: Kaylea (Brad) Hodge, Ronald Gordon, and Alicia Gordon. She is also survived by her brothers Darell (Juanita) Caudill, Larry (Karen) Shepherd, Ronnie (Ronda) Shepherd, and Donnie (Kim) Shepherd; and her sister Deb (Duncan) Wilson.

Her grandchildren, Sireana Ison, Taylor (Jack) Dague, Dalton Hodge, Michael Terrell, Jr., Jennica Hodge, Isabella Gordon, Ka’Vion Terrell, Evalynn Gordon, and Jaxson Gordon, will forever hold her in their hearts, alongside her great-granddaughter Oakleigh. Sheila also shared a special bond with her great-niece Destiny Shepherd. Her life was further enriched by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends who will all miss her dearly.

A Celebration of Shiela’s Life will be announced at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Trostel, Chapman, Dunbar & Fraley Funeral Home. Expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.trostelchapman.com.
