Ruth Rowlett

Ruth Ethel Rowlett, 89, of Springfield, died Sunday, June 23, 2019. She was born September 24, 1929, the daughter of the late James and Mary Estes. Ruth loved waterskiing, boating and singing. She was a member of Maiden Lane Church of God and the Ohio Lyrics. Ruth loved singing at every opportunity and in her younger years she loved boating and water skiing. Ruth is preceded in death by her husband Huston; son Samuel Rowlett; granddaughter Melinda Scott; great-granddaughter Courtney Cydrus; two brothers; and four sisters. She is survived by her children Kenneth (Linda) Rowlett and Carol (Dave) Scott; grandkids Israel Rowlett, Melissa (Gary) Passmores, Shannon (Jerimiah) Trainer, Ruth Ann (Justin) Powell, Melody Scott, Samuel (Rebecca) Rowlett and Tyler Scott; sisters Geneva Hayes, Julia Estes, Millie Ledbetter and Mary Jo Koehler; ten great-grandchildren. The funeral service to honor Ruth will be Friday, June 28, 2019 at 2:00 PM in RICHARDS, RAFF & DUNBAR MEMORIAL HOME, with visitation beginning at 1:00 PM. Burial to follow in Rose Hill Burial Park.
