Ronald E. Ryman, 68, of Springfield passed away Saturday, May 18, 2019 following a second bout with cancer. He was born September 14, 1950 in Springfield the son of Paul E. and Dorothy (Neff) Ryman and was reared by Paul and Ruby (Pendergraft) Ryman. Ron was a 1968 graduate of Northwestern High School and attended Clark State University. He served in the United States Army, and completed a tour of duty in Vietnam, where he was awarded a Bronze Star Medal. Ron worked at Albers and Fulmers Supermarkets, and retired from Village Super Value in Cedarville. He was a devoted family man, especially spending time with his grandchildren, whom he adored. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Martha "Marty" Ryman; a daughter Julie (Mike) Ryman Whaley; sister Vivian "Vicki" (James) Krupp; two grandchildren Drew and Machaela Whaley; numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; sisters Mary Wagner and Jean Shofner. Visitation will be Thursday from 5 – 7 PM. in RICHARDS, RAFF & DUNBAR MEMORIAL HOME. The service to honor Ron’s life will be Thursday at 7:00 PM. in the Memorial Home. Contributions may be made in Ron’s name to the Springfield Cancer Center.
