Ronald P. Mccarty

Ronald P. McCarty, 46, of Springfield, went home to be with the Lord, August 28, 2020. He was born January 16, 1974 in Springfield, the son of Paul and Ginger McCarty. Ron graduated from Northeastern High School and JVS in 1992, where he studied horticulture. He was a Navy Veteran and served in the Gulf War and was later Honorably Discharged. Ron loved to play pool, golf, drag racing and computer games. He also loved the outdoors. Ron was preceded in death by his father Paul R. McCarty; uncle Donald D. McCarty and his wife Rose Ann; uncle James D. McCarty; uncle Sonny Cates and his wife Barbara Carol; aunt Phyllis Ann Gardner; and cousin Christian. He is survived by his mother Doris J. "Ginger" McCarty; aunts Linda Morrissey, Martha "Marty" Dempsey, Kathy Keesecker, Barbara Ann McCarty and Joan Speirs; uncles Doug Keesecker and Robert R. Speirs; special friend Angela Nangle; and several cousins. Visitation will be Thursday from 1-2 PM at Richards, Raff & Dunbar Memorial Home, with the service to honor Ron beginning at 2:00 PM in the Memorial Home.
