Clay, Ronald D., 80 of South Charleston passed away September 18, 2017 in his residence. He was born in Springfield, Ohio on May 3, 1937, the son of Fred Eugene and Cleo Clay. Ron was a 1955 graduate of Springfield High School. He served his country in the Us Navy. Ron was a lifetime member of Springfield DAV, VFW Post 3660, Union and Machinists Clubs. He was an avid pool player, Bengals and the Ohio State football fan. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Fred E. Clay, Jr. and Roy Clay; former wife Janet. Survivors include his wife Kathryn E. "Kitty" Clay; children Robin L. (Larry) Delawder, Christopher L. Clay, Kelly J. Layne, James Howard Bard and Angela (Mike) O’Dell; thirteen grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews including Bruce and Doug Clay; and the several friends at Pleasant Corners. Services to honor Ron will be Saturday, September 23, 2017 at 1:00PM in the RICHARDS, RAFF & DUNMBAR MEMORIAL HOME. Visitation will be from 11:00AM until time of services. Burial to follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. Memorial contributions are requested to the American Cancer Society. Expressions of sympathy may be made at www.richardsraffanddunbar.
