Roma L. Kaffenbarger

Roma L Kaffenbarger 89, of New Carlisle, Ohio passed away Monday, January 23, 2017. She was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on July 28, 1927, the daughter of the late Edward J. and Evelyn (Gerber) Helson. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 53 years Russell E. Kaffenbarger, Sr. in 1998; sister Marjorie Edwards. She is survived by 9 children and their spouses, Jack and Jerry Kaffenbarger of Springfield, Ohio; Rusty and Cheryl Kaffenbarger of Christiansburg, Ohio; Evelyn and Don Schumaker of Mayer, Arizona; Teresa Tefft of Tipp City, Ohio; Sonja and Jerry Smith of Piedmont, South Carolina; Gayle and Perry Collins of Bellville, Ohio; Tom and Laura Kaffenbarger of St. Paris, Ohio; Bonnie and Rob Dragoo of St. Paris, Ohio, Tim and Jennifer Kaffenbarger of Byron, Illinois., 109 grandchildren, great grandchildren & great-great grandchildren. Roma was full of life and smiles and a beacon for her children, grandchildren, and everyone that was fortunate enough to have been touched by her life. This was evidenced by her friendship that was developed with her special friend Cathy Harvey in Dayview Nursing home. The family would like to give special thanks to Cathy for that love and friendship. We would also like to thank the staff of Dayview Nursing home and Crossroads Hospice for their compassionate care of our mother. She was a lifelong member of the Lawrenceville Church of God, retired from Woolworths, and a graduate of the 1945 class of Lawrenceville High School. This little red headed fireball will be dearly missed by all. Visitation will be Thursday from 4-8 PM in Lawrenceville Church of God, 3131 Fox Hollow Rd., Springfield, OH 45502. A funeral service to honor Roma will be Friday at 11:00 AM with visitation one hour prior in the church. Arrangements have been entrusted to TROSTEL, CHAPMAN, DUNBAR & FRALEY FUNERAL HOME.
