Huber Heights

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Robert H. Strickland III, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. Robert was born on April 3rd, 1956, in Ironton, Ohio, and peacefully departed this life on June 1st, 2026, in Huber Heights, Ohio, surrounded by his loving family. Robert’s life was a testament to hard work, faith, and family. A dedicated truck driver, he spent many years traveling the open roads as a long-time truck driver, a vocation he truly loved. Ever-vibrant and passionate, Robert was remembered for his love of the Auburn Tigers—always cheering “Go War Eagle!”—and proudly wore his fandom with joy. In addition to his professional life, Robert was a devoted member of the Living Word Church where he shared his love for music and praise and worship. His deep faith was evident in every aspect of his life, as he faithfully followed his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Robert’s true passion, however, was his family. He is survived by his beloved wife, Amy Strickland of Huber Heights, who stood by his side for many years. His legacy lives on through his children, Adam Gooding, Mallie (Jakob) Montoya, and Lyncon Strickland, who were his pride and joy. He adored his grandchildren, Aaliyah, Maisy, Madden, Addison, Avah, Adam & Amelia; great grandchild Arya; and treasured the moments spent together. He is also survived by his sister, Ann (Tom) Smith, along with nieces and nephews Gene Stringer, Tracy Smith, and Mark (Jennifer) Smith. Robert's family was a source of immense joy and support throughout his life. Special gratitude is extended to his mother-in-law & father-in-law Patty (Gary) Mcilvain, for their unwavering help during his illness. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Strickland II and Helen Strickland, and his sister, Connie Strickland. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 13, 2026, 12PM at Living Word Church 926 E. National Rd. Vandalia, Ohio where a gathering of friends & family will be held from 11AM -12PM. Robert will be remembered for his unwavering spirit, vibrant personality, and the deep love he had for his family and faith. His warmth, love, and guidance will forever be in the hearts of those who were blessed to know him.
