Robert Lee Shirk

Robert passed away peacefully on Monday, March 31, 2025, at the age of 85.  Born on July 30th, 1939 in German Township, Ohio to parents Gordon & Emma (Ogden) Shirk.  A veteran of the United States Army, Robert served his country with pride and honor.  Robert dedicated his professional life to working with sheet metal, a craft to which he brought both skill and integrity.  With a green thumb and a passion for nature, Robert found immense joy in gardening.  Known for his vast vegetable and flower gardens.  This enthusiasm extended to his love for baseball, and he was a lifelong fan of the Cincinnati Reds.  However, above all, Robert cherished the time spent with his family, creating countless memories filled with laughter.  Robert is survived by his children: John (Debra) Shirk, Ronald (Carolyn) Shirk both of Springfield, Marilyn (Ray) Speck of Johnstown & Sandra Miller (Ed) of Springfield; 7 grandchildren, & 13 great grandchildren.  He is preceded in death by his wife Linda; parents; & several siblings.  Funeral services will be held at RICHARDS, RAFF & DUNABR MEMORIAL HOME on Monday, April 7, 2025, at 11AM with visitation from 10AM – 11AM.  Robert’s life was a testament to love, dedication, & the joy in the simple pleasures of life.
