THOMAS, Sr., Richard E. "Dick" 86, of Springfield passed away Sunday, January 31, 2016. He was born March 19, 1929 in Springfield, the son of John and Lillian Thomas. Dick was a 1947 graduate of Springfield High School and worked as a Photoengraver and Lithographer for several companies including Crowell Collier, Springfield Gravure, Printing Service of Dayton and retired from Color Systems in Dayton. He is preceded in death by his parents; a son-in-law Greg Benton; and brothers John Thomas, Jr. and Bob Thomas. Dick is survived by his wife of 68 years Norma (Gueth) Thomas; sons Richard (Jo) Thomas, Jr. and William Thomas; a daughter Sharon Benton; sister Carol (Ted) Thompson; grandchildren Katherine Thomas and Richard (Angel) Thomas; great-grandchildren Justice and Alex; numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Thursday from 5-7 PM in the RICHARDS, RAFF & DUNBAR MEMORIAL HOME. A funeral service to honor Dick will be Friday at 2:00 PM in the memorial home. Burial will follow in Ferncliff Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be made at www.richardsraffanddunbar.com
