Richard R. Hoffman

Richard Roland Hoffman, 82, of New Carlisle passed away September 10, 2017 at Miami Valley Hospital. Richard was born in Dayton, Ohio on January 13, 1935, the second son of Ruskin and Ellen (Drake) Hoffman. Richard worked for 20 years at NCR in Dayton then after it closed, worked at Delco Products in Kettering for 20 years from which he retired. For 25 years he served as a volunteer on the Kettering Fire Department, assigned to Firehouses 1 and 5. Richard was a member of McKendree United Methodist Church, he enjoyed feeding birds, painting, and following the Reds, Bengals, and Buckeyes. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Robert. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 61 years Annette (Glore) Hoffman, children Amy (James) Leighty of New Carlisle, Bonnie (Robert) Brandenburg of Troy, and Rick (Kelley) Hoffman of Tipp City; 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Richard was a beloved husband, father and grandfather. He brought a smile to many he knew and will be missed. The family wishes to thank the staff at Dayview Nursing Home for the love and care he and Annette have received for the past 4 years. Services to celebrate his life will be Wednesday at 1:00 PM in TROSTEL, CHAPMAN, DUNBAR & FRALEY FUNERAL HOME, with Rev. James Leighty officiating.
