Richard F. "Dick" Chaney

Chaney, Richard F. "Dick" 83, of Springfield, passed away on Friday, May 10, 2019, following a brief illness. Dick was born on June 21, 1935, in Springfield, Ohio, the son of Theodore and Grace Chaney. Dick has been retired from International Harvester for the past 32 years. He enjoyed golfing at Snyder Park, and had many friends on the golf course. He also enjoyed boating during the time his children were growing up, and spent many weekends and summer vacations with his family on the Ohio River. Dick is survived by 2 sons, Richard (Diane) Chaney, and Tadd (Jenny) Chaney, all of Springfield; five grandchildren, Emily Yates, Brandon (Abiye) Chaney, Cody Chaney, TJ Chaney, and Dustin Chaney; 3 great grandchildren, Aiden Chaney, Mason Chaney, and Sophia Chaney, whom he adored; and one remaining sister, Betty (Curt) Anderson of Fallon, NV; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Claudette, daughter Kim Yates, and brothers Bill, Jack, Bob, and Kenny. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5-7PMin the Richards, Raff & Dunbar Memorial Home. Services to honor Dick will be Wednesday at 11:00AM in the Memorial Home with Rev. Orbie Estep officiating.
