Ray Donald Ruhrmund

81, of New Carlisle, Ohio, passed away Monday June 30, 2025, in Westminster, Colorado the son of the late Ray (Sr.) and Glenna (Costlow) Ruhrmund. He received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Ohio State University, and served New Carlisle, Ohio, and the surrounding communities as a veterinarian for 45 years. He was married to the late Anne (Cheney) Ruhrmund for 51 years until her passing in 2022. He is survived by his son, Donald (Kai) Ruhrmund, and grandchildren Sydney and Caroline and his daughter Elizabeth (Jason) Malecha and grandchildren Arianna, Parker, and Bryson; his sister Cheryl Haislar; nieces and nephews; other relatives, and friends. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday, September 6, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, with a memorial service to honor Ray beginning at 3:00 PM, at TROSTEL, CHAPMAN, DUNBAR & FRALEY FUNERAL HOME, New Carlisle, Ohio. In honor of Dr. Ray D. Ruhrmund, there will also be a celebration of life service also in the form of mostly music at Honey Creek Presbyterian Church, Saturday, Sept. 6, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM, with a coffee hour to follow to share memories with friends and family from the community about him.
