Phyllis Mae Kasper, a lifelong resident of Springfield, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 1st, 2026, at the age of 98. Born on Saturday, April 21st, 1928, in Springfield, Ohio, Phyllis lived a full and vibrant life surrounded by family and friends. Phyllis worked at Wright Patterson Air Force Base and Cox Accounting. She retired from Springfield City Schools. Known for her unwavering dedication and warm personality, she left a lasting impression on all who had the pleasure of working with her. Her husband, Billy Kasper, often remarked that Phyllis knew half of Springfield and had a nodding acquaintance with the other half. Beyond her professional life, Phyllis had a passion for traveling, which took her and her family to beautiful destinations such as Hawaii and Europe, along with many memorable cruises. Her favorite time of year was Easter, when she delighted in creating Easter baskets and dyeing eggs with her grandchildren, a tradition that continued regardless of their ages. Phyllis took immense pride in decorating her home, creating a warm and welcoming environment for her loved ones. Her true joy came from spending time with her grandchildren, to whom she was devoted. Phyllis is survived by her loving sons, Larry J. Kasper of Hilliard, Stephen (Jenni) Kasper of Texas, and Mark (Kathleen) Kasper of Granville. She was the proud grandmother of Derek (Christina) Kasper, Blake Kasper (Lisa Holzer), Erika (Mike) Sheets, Grant Kasper (Carina Kirchmayer), Kayla Kasper (Michael Allen), and Hannah Kasper (Travis Abbott), and treasured her seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Chester and Beulah McCauley, and her beloved spouse, Billy Kasper. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Phyllis’s remarkable life at a funeral service on Tuesday, May 12th, 2026, at Richards, Raff & Dunbar Memorial Home in Springfield, Ohio. Visitation will be held from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm, followed by the funeral service at 12:00 pm. Phyllis Mae Kasper will be deeply missed by her family and all who knew her.
