Paul D. Shiltz, a dedicated family man and cherished community member, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 21st, 2026, in Troy, Ohio. Born on October 5th, 1936, in Tipp City, Ohio, Paul lived a full and vibrant 89 years surrounded by the love of his family and friends. Paul is deeply mourned by his loving wife of 70 years, Darlene Shiltz of Troy, OH. He is survived by his daughters Paula (Mark Hand) Shiltz, Penny (Marty) Reed, and Pam (Dan) Hart. Paul was also a beloved brother to Gary (Donna) Shiltz, Patty (Jim) Carpenter, and Judy (Bob) Bloomfield. His legacy carries on through his grandchildren Jeremy (Rachel) Drake, Ben Drake, Jennifer (Jacob) Trimbach, Amanda (Josh) Majors, Chad Reed, Jessie (Ben) Johnson, Noah (Meggin) Walkup, and Zach (Lauren) Walkup, as well as his 20 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends. Preceding him in death were his parents, George and Maxine Shiltz, his infant daughter Theresa, his brother Bob Shiltz, and his nephew Tony Shiltz. A proud alumnus of Christiansburg -Jackson High School, Paul demonstrated an unwavering work ethic as a self-employed owner-operator truck driver for over 30 years. His passion for motorsports inspired him to establish Paul Shiltz Motor Sports, a venture that allowed his grandchildren to explore and excel in go-kart racing, sprint cars, and modifieds. An avid NASCAR fan, Paul’s excitement for the sport was evident, with special admiration for his favorite driver Kyle Larson and longtime support for Dale Earnhardt Jr. He enjoyed tinkering in his garage, where his craftsmanship skills shone. Paul was known in the community for his handmade tables, which graced his grandson's coffee shop, Purebred Coffee Co., and left a lasting impression on all who admired them. Above all, Paul valued quality time with his family, leaving behind a legacy of love and dedication. His loss is deeply felt by all who knew him. Funeral services will be held at True Life Community Church in Troy, OH on Wednesday, March 25th, 2026, at 12:00 pm. Visitation will precede the service, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm, providing an opportunity for family and friends to gather and honor Paul’s memory. Arrangements have been entrusted to Richards, Raff & Dunbar Memorial Home. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that any memorial contributions be made to a charity of choice in Paul’s honor. Paul Shiltz will forever be remembered for his generosity, warmth, and indomitable spirit.
