Paul Emerson Conrad

Paul Emerson Conrad was born on March 9, 1929, to Merlin and Viola Conrad on a dairy farm near Orrville, Ohio. He lived a good and faithful life as a servant to the church and its people until his death at the age of 96 on February 4th, 2026.

Together with his wife of 72 years, Ann (Burkholder) Conrad, he developed deep and lasting bonds in the Latino Anabaptist faith communities of South Texas and in the Mennonite church in Southern Ohio. These relationships deeply enriched his life. They are a precious gift cherished by him and his family.

Those left with mountains of memories and stories to tell include his wife, Ann; children: David Conrad & Kaye Brubaker, Eunice & Alan Korinek, Tim and Carol Conrad, Becca Conrad-Whitehead & Bruce Whitehead; grandchildren: Simon Conrad, Emily Korinek & Jordan Drum, Mark & Jennifer Korinek, Allison Korinek & Alex Boodrookas, Katie & Matthew McCoy, Annette & Adama Millogo; Belinda Conrad, Stella & Spencer Johnson, Greta Conrad, Isabel Whitehead, and Risa Whitehead great-grandsons: Phinehas & Daniel Millogo, Benjamin, Jesse & Crosby Drum, Archer & Conrad Korinek, and Samuel Boodrookas; sister: Norma Jean Steiner, and the extended Conrad & Burkholder families. Paul was preceded in death by son Daniel & brother Harold.

Visitation will be held Monday, February 9th, from 5-7pm at West Charleston Church of the Brethren, 4817 OH-202, Tipp City, OH—funeral service to start at 7pm. Burial will follow the next day at Oak Grove Mennonite Church Cemetery, 7843 Smucker Rd, Smithville, OH, at 12pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mennonite Central Committee at mcc.org.
