Norman Cary White

Norman Cary White was born in Boston, MA. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Susan McGregor White, his sons Cary (Keri Carpenter), Norman (Sheralee Beebee), William (Michelle), his grandchildren Lee, Davis, Austin, Langton and Jack, his sister Cynthia Fletcher (Neil) Spokes, and his many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews. He is preceded in death by his mother, Marie Francis Hill White Hansen, his father Norman Edward White, his stepfather Johannes Morch Hansen, his stepbrother Erich Morch Hansen and his stepsister, Eva Mae Fenton.
Norman is a graduate of Mt. Herman School, MIT, and Harvard Business School. He served in the Navy on the USS Galveston and retired from the Navy Reserve as a Lieutenant Commander. He served as CFO for several businesses in Southern California.
He was a good man, kind, and usually the smartest guy in the room. His lively discussions and debates around the dining room table will be sorely missed. He was an avid sailor, and loved backpacking, camping, and politics. He had a passion for sports cars and car races and loved his Austin Healy and 280Z.
A memorial service is planned for Saturday, February 10, at 5 pm at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, 66 St. Stephen’s Drive, Orinda, CA 94563, followed by a reception in the parish hall. Donations may be made in his name to St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, Orinda; The Springfield Foundation, 333 N.
