Nathan "Woody" Sherick born December 25, 1917, passed away, Tuesday, August 7, 2018, surrounded by his family. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Army Air Corps. After graduating from Wittenberg University and obtaining his Masters from Ohio State University he married his sweetheart Louise Chancey and they were together for over 61 years before her death. He was a member of the Asbury United Methodist Church and volunteered for the Red Cross. Woody retired after 30 plus years as Director of the Commercial Art Department at Clark State University. He was an avid farmer, camper, golfer and loved playing volleyball. He is preceded in death by his parents Florence and Clarence Sherick and his siblings Jack Sherick, Mary Dibert, Neva Koons and Theodore Sherick. He is survived by his brother Jerry Sherick, sisters Ruth (Bob) Shields, Wilma Wiles, and Patty (Dave) Johnson. He will be greatly missed by his three daughters Jolene (Sterling) Owen, Geri Sherick and Leslie (Jeff) Simons. A memorial service to honor Woody will be held at Asbury United Methodist Church, date and time to be announced. A memorial service to honor Woody will be Saturday, September 15, 2018 at 11:00 AM in Asbury United Methodist Church. Arrangements have been entrusted to TROSTEL, CHAPMAN,DUNBAR & FRALEY FUNERAL HOME.
