Nancy Ruth Cheek

Nancy Ruth Cheek (McDowell) 76 went to be with the Lord in September 2020 in Mesa, Arizona.Nancy was born in Cape Girardeau, Missouri to Chester Lloyd McDowell and Virginia Ruth McDowell.Nancy grew up in Fruitland, MO and attended Fruitland Elementary School and Jackson High School.She later graduated from Southeast Missouri State College with a Bachelor of Science in Education.Nancy was a high school teacher for over 25 years and taught business education classes in Desloge, Missouri, in Minot College of Business in North Dakota and at Tecumseh High School in New Carlisle, OH, from where she also retired in 2005.Nancy was a believer in Christ Jesus and was a member of the East Valley Church of the Nazarene of Mesa, AZ.She was a wonderful wife, companion and friend to her husband and a loving mom and grandma and was a very generous and kind friend tomany. She is and will be missed by those who knew her.

Nancy is survived by her husband, Fred David Cheek, her daughter, Amy Lewis (Chris), her grandchildren (Matthew, Evelyn), her brother David McDowell (Donna), sister Martha McDowell Clark (Wayne), her brothers-n-law Bill Cheek (Cathy) and Jim Cheek, and multiple nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A graveside service is being planned for Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Fruitland, MO at a future date.
