Minnie A. "Mammy" Miller, 84, of Springfield went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 18, 2018. She was born June 7, 1933 in Lawrence County, KY the daughter of John G. and Viola Mae (Kelley) Foster. Along with her husband, Lawrence, Minnie was the Co-owner/operator of Miller’s Market on Lagonda Avenue and ran a concession stand at many local events. She attended Springfield Free Will Baptist Church and enjoyed quilting, gardening and being outdoors. Minnie was big fan of Elvis, collected Indian dolls and angels, and loved watching "Walker Texas Ranger" with her son. She is survived by three children John "Bubby" (Sue) Rodgers, Leola "Tinker" (Joshua) Lyons, and Barbara Courtney, all of Springfield; one brother David (Debbie) Foster of Tremont City; two grandchildren Elizabeth "Bethy" (Dustin) Magoteaux and Eric Rodgers of Springfield; several nieces and nephews; a special great niece Carolyn Bush; and special friends Bonnie Hughes and Jan Tossey. She is preceded in death by her husband Lawrence C. "Jim" Miller; brothers Eugene (Gynith) Foster and Daniel Proctor Foster; sisters Kathryn (Freeland) Dixon and Arizona Bush. Visitation will be Friday from 5-8 PM. in RICHARDS, RAFF & DUNBAR MEMORIAL HOME. The service to honor Minnie’s life will be Saturday at 11:00 AM. in the Memorial Home with Rev. Charlie Crider officiating. Burial to follow in Rose Hill Burial Park. The family would like to extend special thanks to Dr. Knisley and the Hospice Unit at Springfield Regional Medical Center.
