Michael O. Fowler, Sr.

Michael O. Fowler, Sr., 65, of Springfield died Tuesday, January 9, 2018. He was born October 28, 1952 in Springfield the son of Richard O. and Judith Anne (Crawford) Fowler and was a 1970 graduate of North High School. Mike was the lifelong owner of Fowler Painting. He loved nature and enjoyed walks in the woods and birdwatching, especially eagles, but, what he loved most of all was his family and spending time with his grandkids. He is survived by his father and stepmother Richard and Shirley Fowler of Springfield; two sons Michael O. (Jennifer) Fowler, Jr. of Urbana and Mike Holmes of Springfield; siblings Shirley (Doug) Fick of Springfield, Rich (Linda) Fowler of New Carlisle, and Donna (Dan) Wick of Tremont City; four grandchildren Hanna Larimore, Evan, Ashley and Katelynn Fowler; two great grandchildren Colton and Lyla McWhorter; numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his mother; his wife Karen Fowler; and sister Brenda Kreitzer. Visitation will be Monday from 10AM. – 12 Noon in the RICHARDS, RAFF & DUNBAR MEMORIAL HOME. The service to honor Mike’s life will be Monday at 12 Noon in the Memorial Home with Pastor Richard Blevins officiating. Burial to follow in Rose Hill Burial Park.
