Michael Joseph Detrick

Michael Joseph Detrick age 79 of Urbana passed away on Saturday, November 18, 2023, at Mercy Health Urbana Hospital.  He was born the son of Cletus & Myrtle (Lovell) Detrick on July 30, 1944, in Springfield, Ohio.  Michael is preceded in death by his parents; brothers Jack & Jim Detrick; stepsister Sandy Hall.  Michael is survived by his loving wife Carol; sons Michael T. Detrick of Springfield & Jim (Jessica) Detrick of Kentucky; brothers Larry (Barbara) Detrick & Bill (Shirley) Hall; sister Kathy Daley; grandchildren Summer, Brook, & Chase; great grandchildren Ellimae & Autumn; several nieces, nephews, & a host of friends.  Michael was a loving husband, dad, grandpa, brother, & friend.  He will be missed by all of those who love him.  Michael was a member of the United States Navy, where he served his country proudly for four years.  He was a member of the Union Club & the Indian Lake Moose Lodge 1533.  He was a fan of The Ohio State University Buckeyes, Notre Dame, & the Cleveland Browns.  In his spare time, he enjoyed boating at Indian Lake, visiting horse tracks, casinos, & hosting poker parties for his friends.  Most of all he enjoyed spending quality time with his family, especially if it involved watching his grandchildren playing ball.  A visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 22, 2023, from 10AM – 12PM at RICHARDS, RAFF & DUNBAR MEMORIAL HOME 838 E.
