Maxine E. Harris, 89, of Springfield passed away Tuesday, November 14, 2017 in Winter Haven, Fl. She was born June 17, 1928 in Springfield the daughter of Horace Jacob and Ruth Hazele (Britcher) German. Maxine was employed at Wallace & Turner Insurance for many years as Executive Secretary. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, serving as church secretary for five years, and belonged to the Pilot Club of Springfield and International. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Dr. Gary and Linda Johnson of Winter Haven;granddaughters: Dr. Jennifer Lynne Giglia andDr. Amy Elizabeth Cotton; great grandchildren Lena and James Giglia, and Madison Cotton. She is preceded in death by her parents, and her husband of forty years John B. "Jack" Harris and her brother Roger German. Services will be held Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at 10:00AM in Trinity Lutheran Church. The family will receive visitors for one hour prior to the service Burial will follow in Ferncliff Cemetery.
