Mary Lou Welbaum

Mary Lou Welbaum, 86, of Springfield, passed away surrounded by her family on March 3, 2026. She was born on August 27, 1939, to the late Ralph and Dalee Solomon. She grew up in New Carlisle, moved to Miami County, and graduated from Miami Central High School. Mary Lou loved to crochet; she made many blankets and Christmas socks for her children and grandchildren. She spent some time living in Lakeland, Florida, in the 80’s and 90’s, before eventually moving back to Clark County. She loved having her nine grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren around and spending time with them. She is survived by her children, Brian (Wendy) Welbaum, Nancy Ingle and Tom Welbaum, daughter-in-law, Lisa Welbaum; brother, William Solomon, Lakeland, FL; grandchildren, Jeff, Alex, Izaac (Christina), Nikki, Katie (Roger), Stephanie, Amanda (Mark) and Eric (Eva); great grandchildren, Hope, Kaylee (Kyle), April, Nathan, Gary, Michael, Emma, Evelyn, Abigail, Eleanor, Emilia, Madelynn, Sheldon, Elliot, Ben, Sam, Rylee, Rory, Novella, Emitt, Dean, Elise, Rayleigh, and Khaleesi; many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her son, Wesley Welbaum; grandson Nathan Welbaum Sr.; son-in-law David Ingle, and seven siblings.
