Mary Elizabeth Kirk

Mary Elizabeth Kirk, 88, passed away at VanCrest of New Carlisle on September 11, 2026. She was born on September 10, 1938, to the late Alfa and Mary Melvina Blackburn. In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her sister Lenora Icenhower, her brother James (Mabel), Edison (Esther), Robert and David (Margaret) Blackburn, her children’s father, Junior O. Kirk, and loving friend Earl Benge.

Left to carry on her memory is her sister, Thelma Allman, Latham, OH, Jerry (Carla) Kirk, Urbana, OH; 3 daughters, Debbie (Dale) Stull, Sherry (Doug) Pierson, and Amy (Dan) Rodewald, all of New Carlisle, OH, as well as many nieces and nephews. The joys of her life, her grandchildren: Amanda & Aaron Helman, Daniel & Taulinah Knox, Dr. Kelly Kirk & Jesse Wolfe, Kyle & Taylor Pierson, Micaela Pierson & Jesse Hockett, Carson, Brice, and Devin Rodewald. Her great-grandchildren Madison (Brennen), Alex (Callen), Grayson, Luke, Reese, Trevor, and Kendall; great-great-grandson Arthur.

She retired from Belle Manor Nursing Home after 38 years where she had so many wonderful friends and coworkers. She was a member of New Carlisle Church of the Nazarene.

Her children would like to thank the Mel-O-Dee and Studebaker’s for feeding her over the last 45 years.

Thank you Vancrest Assisted Living and Full Care. She loved you all, especially when you got her a Mt. Dew.

A visitation and celebration of life will be held on Friday, September 18, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. At Trostel, Chapman, Dunbar, & Fraley Funeral Home. There will be no graveside services.
