Martha Hardacre Suver



became a wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother to a wonderful family. She was born February 1, 1921 in Clark County, the daughter of William Blair and Irene Martin Hardacre. She died June 19, 2018. She graduated from Olive Branch High School in the class of 1939. With God's help, she lived an exemplary life. She met her future husband, Roger Suver, when attending Bethel Baptist Church, and in 1932, they both accepted Jesus as their Savior, were baptized, and became members of Bethel Baptist Church. In 1941, she and Roger were married at Bethel and spent 57 years of happy marriage together. After they were married, they began farming together on a farm in Pike Township and later owned Maplelawn Farms in Clark County. Bethel Church was her only church during her lifetime, and she served in many ways; such as being a Sunday School teacher for 50 years, Junior Church Director, Nursery Superintendent, choir member, Women's Baptist Fellowship as well as serving on church boards and committees. In addition, she served on the Baptist Western Association Women's Board, was a former advisor for Christian Women's Clubs of America, member of WEEC Christian Auxiliary, member of Clark County Farm Bureau, Tecumseh Farm Bureau Council, and served on her election precinct as Clerk and Judge Precinct official for 30 years. She took a course in cake decorating and made birthday, anniversary, and graduation cakes for family and friends. She enjoyed sports, tennis, baseball, and football, and was a fan of the Cincinnati Reds and The Ohio State University Buckeyes. Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-laws: Jerry and Linda Suver of Southport, NC, James and Linda Suver, Robert and Denise Suver of Springfield, OH. Nine grandchildren and spouses: Bart and Pala Suver, Kimberly and Chad Hale, Amy and Matthew Ehlinger, Jennifer and Craig Hamstra of New Carlisle, OH, Jamie and Alisha Suver of Springfield, OH, Lisa and Todd Bracken of Sunbury, OH, Benjamin and Natalie Suver of Springboro, OH, Matthew and Betsy Suver of Blacklick, OH, and Dr. Jeffrey Suver of Seattle, WA. Also many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents: William B and Irene Hardacre, husband Roger Suver, infant son Donald, three sisters Eloise Hardacre, Marguerite Tracy, Jane Bartlett, and two brothers Elno and William Hardacre Jr. Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 24, 2018 from 4pm to 7pm at Bethel Baptist Church 6370 New Carlisle Pike, New Carlisle, Ohio. Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 25, 2018 at 10am at Bethel Baptist Church: 6370 New Carlisle Pike with Pastor Scott Fetter officiating. Burial will be in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution may be made to Bethel Baptist Church: 6370 New Carlisle Pike Springfield, OH 45504, WEEC Christian Radio 1205 Whitefield Circle Xenia, OH 45385, or your favorite charity.
