A special thank you to Good Shepard Village Nursing Home for the care and kindness you gave Mom. She was preceded in death by her husband the love of her life, (Sailor) Ronald Roger Cason Sr. (Casey the barber). They were married for 42 years. Her father Winston Hollis Snell, her Mother Susan Snell, her brother Winston Hollis Snell Jr., her sister Gail Daniels and sister in law Janice Cason. Mom was a cook for the Springfield City Schools and retired after 26 years of service. She was a member of Northside Baptist Church. Mom loved working with the babies in the church nursery and she also volunteered in the " Home Bound" ministry, Mom enjoyed making her weekly home visits to the elderly in her church until she was 82 years old and no longer able to drive. She never considered herself too old to serve the Lord. Mom was a great cook and volunteered in the church kitchen during Vacation Bible School and Wednesday night Awanas. Mom knew no strangers and was deeply loved by her family, her friends, her neighbors and church family. What a joy to have known and loved her as we all do. What an honor to have called her Mom and Grandma. For the Christian this is not our home, we are just passing through. There are no good byes, but a joyful anticipation of what is to come. Death is merely an open door to eternity of everlasting life with Jesus and those we love. A part of you will always be with us Mom, until we embrace once again on Heaven’s shores! Today all of Heaven rejoices with us, you are home! Visitation will be held Wednesday at 12 noonuntil time of the Celebration Service for Martha at 1:00 PM in the Northside Baptist Church with Pastor Dave Hill officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. In Sue’s memory, in lieu of flowers please consider making a donation to the Retired Veterans Administration, the Diabetes Association or Northside Baptist Church. Expressions of sympathy may be made at www.richardsraffanddunbar.com. RICHARDS, RAFF & DUNBAR MEMORIAL HOME has been entrusted with the final arrangements.
