Springfield

Marjorie Joan Krukewitt, age 83, known as Joann Krukewitt, was born on January 23, 1943, in Waterloo, Ohio to the late Roscoe and Edna Rodgers. One of 12 children, the family moved to Champaign County, Ohio when she was 2. She was raised in Mechanicsburg, Ohio, graduated high school in 1961, and married David Boggs the same day. That union produced three daughters; Carol Mennett (Beavercreek), Laura Wallace (deceased), and Jodi Lucas (Springfield).

After divorcing in 1987 Joann met Larry Krukewitt and they began a long courtship, marrying on New Years Eve, 1994. Larry and Joann spent the next 32 years traveling the world, loving and respecting each other, having fun and creating memories. They wintered in South Florida for 30 years where they wore out several golf courses. Always ready for a round of golf and a cocktail after, Joann was known as the Queen of Seagate in Highland Beach, Florida.

In addition to her spouse and daughters she is survived by her stepson, Christopher Krukewitt and his wife Gin, Lexington, VA and Myrtle Beach South Carolina; brother, Raymond (Gloria) Rodgers, Mesquite, Nevada; 7 grandchildren: Corey Callahan, Chelsea Prculovski, Emily Fitch, Allison Fitch, Logan Mennett, Nate Mennett, and Rachel Mennett; 7 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews, and special son-in-law, Don Lucas. In addition to her parents, Joann was preceded in death by her daughter, Laura; 10 siblings; grandson, Marcus; and her beloved, Mia, her 4-legged buddy.

Always anxious to learn, she was a student of the Bible, a devoted follower of her faith, she was a practitioner of Religious Science and has been a guest speaker at churches in Indiana and Ohio. Joann will be remembered as an American Original and one-of-a-kind wife, mother, stepmother, grandmother, and G.G. Per her wishes, she will be cremated and burial will be with her husband at the time of his death. A celebration of their life together will take place at that time. There will be no current services.
