Marilyn J. Patterson

September 20, 1932 — April 22, 2018

Patterson, Marilyn J., 85 of Springfield passed away April 22, 2018 in the Good Shepherd Village. She was born in Springfield, Ohio on September 20, 1932, the daughter of Raymond and Mildred (Thackery) Watson. Marilyn was a 1950 graduate of South High School. She was a lifelong member of Hillside Ave Church of God. In her earlier years she worked for the McMann & Tate Insurance Company. She also delivered newspapers for many years. One of her fondest things to do was going to dinner with family and friends. Marilyn also had a passion for dogs. Marilyn devoted her life to caring for her family and youngest son Lance. Hobbies included attending festivals, Arts in the Park, scenery at the CJ Brown Reservoir and bargain shopping at the Upper Valley Mall. She was preceded in death by her husband David V. Patterson; parents and the mother who raised her Elma (Dillon) Watson as well as many Aunts and Uncles. Survivors include her children Greg (Brenda) Patterson, Mark (Beth) Patterson, Scott (Darlene) Patterson, Blair Patterson, Shana (Mitchell) Mundy and Lance Patterson; grandchildren Shannon Patterson, Stacy Titus, Rachele Barlow, Traci McFann, Mark B. Patterson II, Billy Jones, Scott Patterson, II, Austyn Patterson, Skyler Patterson, Alyssa Patterson, Elexys Patterson, Vince Patterson, Valerie Patterson, Kyle Patterson, Chole Patterson, Aryn Mundy and Ryan Mundy; Aunt Lucy McWilliams; twenty-three great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. The family would like to express their deepest thanks to the staff at Good Shepherd Village for the wonderful care of their mother. Services to honor Marilyn will be Thursday at 1:00PM in the RICHARDS, RAFF & DUNBAR MEMORIAL HOME with Mike Criner officiating. A gathering of family and friends will begin at 11:00AM until time of services. Burial to follow in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions are requested to the Clark County Special Olympics 2535 Kenton St. Springfield, Ohio 45505. Expressions of sympathy may be made at www.richardsraffanddunbar.com.
