Marilyn L Jarvis

Jarvis, Marilyn Lee 78 of South Charleston passed away April 28, 2020 in her residence. She was born in South Charleston, Ohio on September 17, 1941, the daughter of William and Mildred (White) Smith. Marilyn attended Pitchin Community Church. Over the years Marilyn has worn many hats especially being a proud wife and mother of six children. She had the biggest heart and would help anyone in need. She was a Phlebotomist at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Lab Technician at London County Hospital, had several restaurant businesses and co-owned the Chillicothe Street Pizza shop in South Charleston. She was a licensed realtor; EMT with Madison Township EMS; served two terms as mayor of South Charleston and afterwards as the Village Commissioner. She was a member of the Women’s Golf Association and on the Board of Trustees at the London Country Club. She was an active member of Daughters of the American Revolution, Daughters of the American Colonist and was the organizing president of the James Madison Chapter # 478 Ohio Society USD 1812.



Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents; husband Arthur E. Jarvis on March 6, 2019; son William Jarvis; sisters Peggy Alderson and Sharon Lay; stepsisters Virginia Protsman, Janet Sharp and Ruth Spivey. Survivors include her children Scott (Susie) Jarvis, Lija (Bill) Eldridge, Jay (Lorre) Jarvis, Katie (Brian) Harvey and Raymond (Lori) Jarvis; sister Martha (Chuck) Herrnstein; stepsister Alice (Tom) Cryder; stepbrother Jake (Missie) Cultice; grandchildren William Jarvis II, Dillon Jarvis, Trisha (Craig) Imler, Dustin Smith, Emily Jarvis, Phillip Huff, Erin(Nathan) Davis, Amanda (Cory) Howard, Jason (Amber) Jarvis, Joshua (Patience) Jarvis, Allisha Jarvis, Jourdan Herlihy and Celeste Herlihy; eighteen grandchildren and many nieces and nephews and Dixie, mom’s beloved and faithful Shephard will be interred alongside her (Aug 2007 – Apr 2020). Graveside services will be Saturday at 11:30AM in Greenlawn Cemetery, South Charleston with Rev. Jake Cultice officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made tothe PKD Foundation at https://pkdcure.org. Richards, Raff & Dunbar Memorial Homehas been entrusted with the final arrangements.
