Marcella Lee Bowman

age 95, of Vandalia, died Tuesday, 1/15/19 peacefully at home. Born June 25, 1923 in Bethel Township, Miami County, to Charles and Bertie Boone, she graduated from Bethel High School in 1941, and from Dickinson Secretarial School in September 1941. Marcella worked at Frigidaire, as a homemaker, and as a teacher’s aid after her children were grown. She enjoyed family, gardening, bird watching, and caring for her cat. Marcella was active in the West Charleston Church of the Brethren. Preceded in death by her parents, infant sister Leah Catherine, twin sister Marceil Boone husband Harold Bowman, brother in law Robert Hoover, she is survived by her sister, Naomi Hoover of Hartford, CT, sons Dale Bowman of Springfield, Mark Bowman (Sara) of New Lebanon, and Lee Bowman (Rebecca) of Wilmington, 2 grandsons, Matthew (Molly) & Jonathan (Danyel) Bowman, 1 granddaughter, Sabrina Bowman, 4 great granddaughters, 1 nephew, 3 nieces, a host of grand and great grandnieces and nephews, 1 cat, and many friends. Friends of the family may call at West Charleston Church of the Brethren from 9:00 to 11:00 AM on Monday, 1/21/19, funeral service following at 11:00 AM with Pastors Irv Heishman and Caleb Kragt officiating.
