M. Dwain Bartley

Bartley, M. Dwain, 94 of Springfield passed away November 28, 2020. He was born in Allen County, Ohio on November 14, 1926, the son of James Bartley and Ruth Bartley Scarberry.He proudly served his country in the Army Air Corp. Dwain worked in the automobile industry starting with Ripley Buick, D & S Motors, Springfield Auto leasing and retiring from Monte Zinn.He was a member of St. Andrews Lodge # 619 F & AM, charter member of the Springfield Township Fire Department, was the first eagle scout in Clark county, past president of the Optimist Club and was very active in the Republican Party. Dwain served on the Miami Valley Military Affairs Committee, helping the public understand the military's role better. He played on the Senior Olympics Gold Medal softball team and the Senior World Series Championship softball team. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. After retiring he enjoyed spending winters in Florida. Dwain was preceded in death by his parents; brother Darrell Bartley; sisters Joan Kaiser and Charlene Smith. Survivors include his children Dene (Dr. Dean) Wells, Linda (Neal) Stout and Rusty (Robin) Bartley; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Visitation will beSaturday from 11:00AM to 11:45AMwith private and masonic services to be held at the convenience of the family in the Richards, Raff & Dunbar Memorial Home. Live streaming of the service will take place at Noon on the Memorial Home's Facebook page.
