Lucy McWilliams

Lucy McWilliams, 101, of Springfield, went home to be with the lord on Thursday, July 9, 2026. She was born March 20, 1925, the daughter of the late Jacob T. and Verba O. (Sanders) Watson. Lucy retired from Rite Aid Pharmacy where she worked as a cashier. Before Rite Aid her smiling face greeted customers at several stores in the Southern Village Shopping Center. Lucy and Gerald loved attending their grandchildren’s different events and cheering them on. She loved canning, made wonderful grape jelly, read her bible daily, and calling her siblings as much as she could. Lucy is preceded in death by her husband Ralph Tooker in 1955; husband Gerald W. McWilliams in 2013; son Marlin Tooker; brothers and sisters in law Raymond (Elma) Watson, Linus (Wilma) Watson, Leslie (Mary) Watson, Emmit (Mona) Watson, and Orlyn (June) Watson; sisters and brothers in law Marjorie (Donald) Dillon, Audrey (Roger) Donohoe, and Myrtle (Lucian) Walters. She is survived by her children Steve (Vicki) Tooker and Debbie (Tim) Mattern; grandchildren Sheila (Jerry) Mothersole, Todd Tooker, Brian (Misty) Tooker, Randy (Jeri) Tooker, Kevin (Camille) Tooker, Chad Tooker, Jason (Krista) Mattern, Justin Mattern, and Jake Mattern; 18 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and extended family. Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 14, 2026, from 4-8pm at Richards, Raff & Dunbar Memorial Home. The funeral to honor Lucy will be held Wednesday, July 15 at 1:00pm at the funeral home.
