Lenz, Louis Richard, 83 of Springfield, Ohio passed away June 3, 2020 in Hospice of Dayton. He was born in Taswell, IN on May 1, 1937, the son of Lewis and Alma Lenz. Louis was a 1955 graduate of Chrysler High School in New Castle, IN. Louis retired from Central State University with their state police force. He also sold IH trucks at a dealer on Leffels Lane in Springfield, he also worked part time as a security officer at Oakwood Village after he retired. He was a past president of the FOE in New Castle, IN and FOE Springfield. His hobbies included hunting, fishing and kayaking on Patoka Lake in Indiana. Louis was extremely fond of his beagles over the years and his current companion Buddy. Louis was preceded in death by his parents; wife Fay in 2014; daughter and son-in-law Lisa and Greg Fritz; brother Scott Lenz and sister Diane Coomer. Survivors include his children Jackie (David) Barletto, Richard Jason (Joni) Lenz and Jeff (April) Lenz; sisters Carol Prosser, Helen (David) Gray and Nancy Baker; eleven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Monday from 6-8PM in the Richards, Raff & Dunbar Memorial Home. A celebration of Louis’s life will be Wednesday, June 10, 2020 at Noon with visitation from 11:00AM until time of services in the Denbo Funeral Home, English, IN, Indiana time.
